Pakka Skills, IIT Roorkee and Parson Machinery have signed a tripartite MoU. Under this partnership, admissions have opened for a two-year PG Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology. The first batch of 30 students will start in mid-November.
The MoU was signed by Sarita Upadhyaya, KK Pant and Madhure Desarda. The course is open to BSc graduates and BTech graduates in Chemical, Mechanical and Biotechnology.
Its key feature is ‘classroom inside the factory’. Students will learn at Pakka’s factory complex in Ayodhya, among machines and experts.
The program includes one year of training and one month of specialised training at IIT Roorkee’s Paper Technology Department at its Saharanpur campus. IIT Roorkee is the only IIT with a dedicated paper technology department.
Students will get a separate certificate from IIT Roorkee and a stipend-based on-the-job training.
