The Pakistan Army on Sunday resorted to “unprovoked” ceasefire violation along the line of control in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

According to ground reports, the Pakistan Army targeted several civilian areas along with forward posts of the Indian Army. Hitting back, Indian army too retaliated strongly and targeted several 'offensive' gun positions of the Pakistan Army to silence them.

Ministry of Defence spokesman in Jammu, Lt-Col Devender Anand said, "Pakistan army violated ceasefire agreement at around 7.15 p.m in Sunderbani sector on sunday". He said, after a brief spell of small arms firing, the Pakistan Army resorted to intense shelling. "Indian Army retaliated effectively", he added.
