Pakistan violates ceasefire pact; infiltration bid foiled in Rajouri

While PM Manmohan Singh was completing the last leg of his two-day Jammu & Kashmir visit, Pakistani Army once again provoked Indian forces by violating the ceasefire agreement along the loC in Poonch on Wednesday.

This is the second major ceasefire violation in the last 24 hours and sixth in the last three weeks from across the border. According to Jammu-based spokesman of the Ministry of Defence, SN Acharaya, “Pakistani troops fired at forward Indian posts between Doda battalion and Saujiyan between 10.45 and 11.15 am.” Meanwhile, alert troops in Rajouri also foiled a major intrusion bid by a group of heavily armed infiltrators inside the Indian territory.
