Pak firing injures BSF jawan along IB in Hiranagar

Published on:

Peace along the line of control in areas south of Pir Panjal was shattered late Sunday night by the Pakistani Army as it went on to target at least six forward Indian posts in Mendhar sector of Poonch.

On the other hand a BSF jawan deployed along the International border in Hiranagar sector was injured when he came under the direct line of fire from across the border. He received bullet injuries on both his legs and was shifted to Government Medical college in Jammu. Both BSF and Army authorities have recently enhanced their presence on the ground to check fresh infiltration bids from across the border.

According to field reports, Pak Army resorted to two consecutive ceasefire violations in the Mendhar sector of Poonch probably with an aim to push heavily armed militants inside the Indian territory.
