Pakistan army Thursday violated ceasefire agreement along the line of control in Mankote sector of Poonch district.
This is the third incident of ceasefire violation in the last three days.
According to ground reports, "the firing started around 8.00 p.m and continued till late in the night".
Defence PRO in Jammu, Lt Col Devendra Anand said, " Pakistan army initiated 'unprovoked' ceasefire violation by using firing of small arms around 6.30 p.m".
"The Indian army retaliated strongly and effectively", he added.
