Owaisi questions RaGa's Modi hug

AIMIM president and lok Sabha member from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has asked the Congress president Rahul Gandhi the purpose of his hugging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament during the debate on no-confidence motion.

Addressing a massive public meeting in Hyderabad marking the death anniversary of his grand father Abdul Wahed Owaisi, who had revived the AIMIM after the merger of Hyderabad into Indian union, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “which secularism was he displaying by hugging Modi under whose rule Muslims were being attacked in the name of cow and the people were protesting against his misrule”.

If Rahul Gandhi wanted to end the hatred by hugging the Prime Minister, he should first ensure justice to the victims but the Congress too had failed in ensuring justice, Owaisi said.

Dwelling into history he recalled even Hitler had also embraced Jews before sending 10 to 20 lakh jews to concentration camps and gas chambers. “If hugging would have stopped hatred and violence, it would have stopped mass killings of Jews”, he said.

“Hugging asked if I had even  shaken hands with Prime Minister I would have been charged with joining hands with the BJP”, he said.

“As both of them (Rahul and Modi) do not have anyone to hug I their homes, they go around hugging people outside. That is why marriage is so important”, he said.

Owaisi also lashed out at the Muslim leaders of Congress calling them “chamchas” (sycophants) of Rahul Gandhi. His attack on Rahul and the local leaders of Congress came at a time when Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to visit Hyderabad on August 13 and was slated to have lunch in a city hotel and also address a public meeting in Owaisi’s fortress of old city.

Owaisi also targeted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned his continued silence over killing and lynching of Muslims.
