All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly reacted to the allegation of the Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptullah and counter charged that the BJP had turned the Moulana Azad Urdu University into a propaganda tool.
In his reaction to Najma Heptullah’s allegation that he (Owaisi) was taking the country on the path of division, Owaisi said, “on the contrary we are working to strengthen the unity of the country”.
Najma during her recent visit to Hyderabad had targeted the MIM and its president while addressing a meeting of the minority cell of Telangana BJP and had urged the party cadre to fight against the “communal party”.
“Instead of giving an action plan to uplift Muslim minority educationally and economically she used the program at the Moulana Azad University to attack the MIM”, Owaisi said.
“Both the communal and self-styled secular parties were afraid of the MIM”, Owaisi said. Pointing out that the Muslim minority was the most educationally backward in the country, he wanted to know why the Prime Minister Narendar Modi was silent on this and other major issues like reservations and the ban on meat. He rued that the present Government at the center was working at the behest of the communal forces.
