All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s handling of the violent activities of Rajput Karni Sena and quipped whether Prime Minister’s 56 inch chest was only for Muslims.
Talking to media in Hyderabad Owaisi alleged that in the name of respecting the sentiments, the Government had surrendered before Rajputs but never cared even for the genuine grievances of the Muslim minority. “Modi Government has laid out a red carpet for the Rajput agitators allowing them even to stone the bus carrying school children, Shopping Malls and vehicles are being burnt. Somebody is calling for cutting the nose. All these activities are taking place with the blessings of the BJP", he said.
He contrasted Government's leniency towards Rajputs with its attitude towards Muslims on issues like triple Talaq. "When Muslims opposed the Triple Talaq the Government did not set up a committee nor it referred the bill to select committee but pushed it through forcefully in lok Sabha. If Government can care for the sentiments of Rajputs why it was ignoring the feelings of Muslims. Is this Sab Ka Saath, Sab ka VikasIJ", he asked.
On film "Padmavat", he said he did not oppose watching a particular movie. "I am appealing to the youth to avoid watching any movie as they can feed a poor person with the same Rs 200. "In India many families have nothing to eat and their children were malnourished", he said rejecting the criticism that he opposed film Padmavat. "I never called for stoning, burning theatres or cutting somebody's nose.
