O n a day when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flew to Mumbai to participate in the two-day investors’ meet, political parties on Friday attacked his Government for the Aurangabad incident in which Maoists had killed seven people in a landmine blast on Thursday night. Altogether 57 people have been booked in the incident.
A day after the incident, senior State BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and party leader Giriraj Singh visited Aurangabad and met bereaved families while cornering the State Government for not being able to control such incidents.
“law and order in the State has been completely collapsed and Nitish Kumar has failed to control such incidents. It’s very unfortunate that people from a particular class are being targeted now,” commented Giriraj Singh. He also said that Kumar is not running the Government but making all his efforts and resources for the survival of his Government in the State.
“Sarkar Ram bharose chal rahi hai,” said former Minister and fiery State BJP leader Giriraj Singh.
Pushing the Government to the wall, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi too said the Government has completely failed in maintaining law and order situation in the State and he demanded strict action against the Maoists.
Similarly, RJD leader Samrat Chaudhury has attacked the Nitish Kumar-led Government for not being able to check such incidents. “Earlier, it was being charged that such incidents were happening only during the RJD regime but now the Nitish Government should answer how and what prompted Aurangabad incident. In fact, the law and order situation in the State has collapsed,” he charged.
State Congress president Ashok Chaudhury wondered that when intelligence had alerted the Government earlier for such an attack how the Government could not prevent it. “The Government has failed to act on the intelligence alert… its failure on the part of the Government,” he alleged.
Rashtriya lok Samata Party chief Upendra Kushwaha too visited Aurangabad and attacked the Nitish Government for failing on all fronts, especially law and order. “Where is the law and order in the StateIJ...It has collapsed completely and the Chief Minister always sings paeans of development,” he charged.
Significantly, the Rashtrawadi Kisan Sanghtan, a new front of farmers earlier launched by Ranvir Sena chief Barmeshwar Mukhia too has condemned the Aurangabad incident and made the Nitish Government responsible for this.
However, amidst all the charges and allegations the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar left for Mumbai to participate in two-days investors’ meet. State Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhury too accompanied him on the Mumbai trip.
When asked on the Aurangabad incident, Chaudhury told the media that the Government has taken it on a very serious note and “taking all the necessary actions on it”.
“You all must have seen how promptly our Chief Minister responded to the incident and Rs5 lakh compensation has also been announced to the victim family members. The Government has taken the incident seriously and taking all the necessary actions,” he said.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against 57 people, including seven named, in the incident and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the Maoists in the area.
