A war of words broke out between the ruling BJP and Opposition on Wednesday over the issue of providing compensation to the farmers who suffered huge losses due to recent heavy rains and hailstorm in Haryana. While the Congress called the BJP as “anti-farmer party”, the latter hit back saying that the Opposition is shedding crocodile tears on the issue. The Congress wanted that the farmers be given a compensation of atleast Rs20,000 per acre for crop damage due to heavy rains while main Opposition Indian National lok Dal demanded that atleast Rs25,000 per acre should be paid.
