The Opposition parties have flayed the Samajwadi Party Government and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for sacking of primary teacher Shiv Kumar Pathak.
The teacher posted in lambhua town of Sultanpur, had filed a public interest litigation in the Allahabad High Court asking the politicians and the Government officers to send their kids to State-run primary schools. Pathak whose petition got this order has been sacked by the State Government for being ‘absent from duty’.
The High Court also directed the Chief Secretary of the State to file the status report on the implementation of the directive within next six months. The Government instead showing uncanny alacrity sacked the teacher.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday his Government would soon constitute a committee which will look into the matter and on the basis of the report it would decide its course of action as to how to comply with the directive of the High Court.
CM was in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday in connection with the funeral of the Minister of State Chitranjan Swroop, who died in a hospital in Gurgaon on Wednesday after long illness.
“The Samajwadi Party Government has shown its intent about improving the condition of primary education in less than 48 hours of the Allahabad High Court order,” said senior BSP leader and leader of Opposition in UP Assembly Swami Prasad Maurya. He added “Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav should immediately revoke the order.”
