Perhaps in a first-of-its-kind operation the Bengal Police have unearthed an online bomb delivery system at Kalna sub-division in Burdwan district of Bengal.
According to district police officials two persons were arrested in connection of the offence. The scheme was simple and went like the online home delivery system … the miscreants used to publish photographs of bombs of various calibers earmarking price for them … then they would invite offers from the prospective customers, officials said.
The price tag for Sutli bomb — or the bombs rapped in jute thread — was Rs 250 a piece and the price of Box bomb — where explosive was stuffed inside a small tin container — would be Rs 450 per piece, sources said quoting the arrested persons.
Once the orders were placed and deals finalised the bombs would be delivered at appointed places, officials said adding investigations were on to find out larger links.
Meanwhile, as the news became public the Opposition parties launched an attack on the Mamata Banerjee Government for allowing the State to sit on a powder keg.
Senior BJP leader Rahul Sinha said, “earlier the Government was running a Duare Sarkar scheme (the super hit scheme devised by the TMC Government before last year’s Assembly elections) that reached Government services to the door steps of the citizens) now with the panchayat elections approaching they are promoting Duare Bomb scheme so as to handle the opposition parties … The TMC Government has taken Bengal to the worst ever situation in history.”
