A Nadia court on Tuesday held one of the six accused guilty in the 2015 Ranaghat nun rape case. All but one of the accused found guilty hail from Bangladesh. Dacoity-cum-rape was committed at a Christian missionary school in Ranaghat in some 70 km from Kolkata. A 71-year-old nun was allegedly gang-raped by the accused who also looted Rs 12 lakh, the prosecution said. The court found Nazrul Islam guilty of rape and robbery while others — Milan Sarkar, Gopal Sarkar, Md Salim and Ohidul Khaledar — were held guilty of dacoity and criminal conspiracy, the prosecution lawyer said.
