One more cellphone of rapist recovered

The city crime branch sleuths, probing the gang-rape of a photojournalist, have recovered a mobile phone that one of the five arrested accused possessed at the time of crime but sold it to somebody later. Disclosing that they had recovered the mobile phone of 19-year-old Mohamed Kasim Hafiz Sheikh alias Bangali, one of the five arrested accused in the gang-rape case, the police said that short of cash while on the run, Kasim had sold the mobile phone somebody else.

“The purchaser had in turn sold the mobile phone to a third party from whom we have recovered the handset,” an officer said. There was no confirmation as to whether the recovered mobile phone would have any bearing on the ongoing investigations in the gang-rape of photojournalist.
