One infiltrator was killed by the alert troops along the line of Control (loC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri early on Tuesday morning.
The jawans posted in the forward area had detected the movement of terrorists along the loC.
The Defence spokesman in Jammu said, “The troops engaged the infiltrating terrorists with effective automatic fire while drawing heavy retaliatory fire”.
One terrorist was eliminated in the operation while the others fled towards Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir.
The body of the eliminated terrorist has been recovered with a weapon and ammunition.
Meanwhile, BSF jawans arrested a Pakistani national from RS Pura Sector around 12 pm in Jammu.
The Pakistani national, identified as Mohd Ahmad hailing from Kot Din Dhan Village of Sialkote had crossed the International Border and was moving suspiciously in the area when he was taken in to custody by the BSF jawans.
