Omar Govt misused Central aid for flood-hit people: Shah

Continuing its tirade against Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the successive dynastic regimes in the embattled State, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday put the incumbent National Conference-Congress coalition on notice over the alleged misuse of `1,700 crore released by the Centre for the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people.

like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech three days ago in Capital Srinagar,  BJP’s national president Amit Shah skipped controversial political issues in his two public rallies in Kashmir. He promised development and sought people’s support for eliminating corrupt dynasties from power.

“An amount of `1,700 crore was released by the Centre. I asked people in Shopian if they received relief, they denied. I want to ask Omar Abdullah where the money has gone”, Amit Shah told a gathering at a local park in Amira Kadal constituency of Srinagar.

The BJP has fielded Hina Shafi, dentist daughter of a former MP Muhammad Shafi Bhat from Amira Kadal segment where NC’s provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani is seeking re-election. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has fielded business tycoon Altaf Bukhari from the constituency. Young Hina Bhat, who is embittered against ruling NC for alleged ill-treatment of her father by the party, has become BJP’s poster-girl in Kashmir.
