Omar flays BJP on Article 370

J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday made an attempt to impress the Congress leadership by targeting the BJP over the issue of revocation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India.

Addressing a public rally after the inauguration of the Banihal-Qazikund rail link in Banihal, Omar without naming any BJP leader questioned their intentions behind raising the false boggy of revocation of Article 370 providing for special status to Jammu & Kashmir. Recently, Narendra Modi and lK Advani had raked up the issue of revocation of Article 370 on the occasion of 60th Balidan Diwas of Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

Omar said the same party has developed a trait to deceive the people on this issue as soon as elections draw nearer.

“We the people of Jammu & Kashmir categorically tell them that revocation of Article 370 is not possible at all and any attempt by anyone on this sensitive issue would be on our dead bodies,” he asserted and said that during the six and a half years tenure of their Government at the Centre, it has not even a single time talked about this issue.

Interestingly, Omar himself was part of the alliance and worked closely with Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his Council of Ministers.
