After losing the company of Congress-led UPA Government, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has now started feeling the pinch of empty coffers in the State.
Sounding alarm bells at a public function, Omar on Monday dared BJP to fill the empty coffers of the State and usher in ‘acche din’(good days) so that he can also provide ‘uninterrupted’ power to the people of the State.
Peeved over the behaviour of several BJP legislators who had earlier shouted slogans at the beginning of the programme in Jammu club and also held him responsible for not addressing the issue of severe power crisis in the State, Omar lost his cool and blamed BJP legislators of staging the protests only in front of cameras.
Omar admitted the State was facing severe power crisis but also maintained he cannot find solutions overnight. “Woh kehte hain acche din aane walle hain, layen woh achhe din, hamare khajane khlai hain, bhar de hamare khajane taki hum bhi 24 ghante bijli de saken aap logon ko”.
After launching the 2nd phase of Re-structured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme for Jammu division, Omar responded to the charges leveled by BJP legislators on the power crisis in the State.
Omar said for the last over five and half years the BJP legislators never raised their voice in his office for public centric-issues but now they want to ride on the shoulders of their PM Narendra Modi in the Assembly elections. They will win again and they will deceive their voters for their vested interests.
He said the most unfortunate part of politics of Jammu is that these BJP legislators have always deceived their voters and back stabbed them by shifting their loyalities. “They never raised their voice in front of me in my office. When they come to my office they demand a cup of tea and indulge in sweet talk and buttering”. Omar said, they stage drama in front of cameras to score brownie points but will not dare raise their voice in my office.
Omar while exposing the murky deals of BJP legislators also claimed one of the BJP legislator who was leading the protests in the hall did Farooq Abdullahs ‘Chamchagiri’ for six long years and sought favours for his kin and close relatives in medical college, Public service commission, transfer/posting etc.
Omar also attacked the BJP legislators for voting against their own party candidate in the MlC polls and then making rounds of his office to save their skin and MlA ship.
