A National Nutrition Month campaign was launched on Friday to make the district malnutrition free. In this direction, a public awareness nutrition rally was taken out at Kakarmatta Anganwadi Centre of Kashi Vidyapeeth development block as community participation is very important for effective implementation of the campaign which will run till September 30. Under the direction of CDO Himanshu Nagpal, nutrition and health related activities will be organised on a large scale with all the convergence departments and developing institutions. DPO DK Singh said the campaign with the coordination and integrated efforts of all the convergence departments related to nutrition, publicity and various programmes will be organised to bring public awareness regarding nutrition in important stages of the nutrition-based life cycle such as pregnancy, infancy, childhood and adolescence. The DPO said under the nutrition campaign, continuous efforts are being made to improve the nutritional level of children below six years of age, pregnant, lactating mothers and adolescent girls.
