The National Security Guards (NSG) on Wednesday said a court of inquiry has been initiated to look into the circumstances under which calls were connected to the force’s Palam exchange and its regional hub in Hyderabad and information passed on to the caller who claimed to be Major Ajay Sharma of MI 3.

“A court of inquiry has been ordered by DG NSG to go into the details about the circumstances under which the calls were connected to the offices of the Regional Hub, Hyderabad and the information passed on to the unauthorised person,” the NSG said in a statement on Wednesday.

Admitting that the officer on duty gave some information about deployment of NSG team at the blast site, NSG said preliminary probe has revealed that no details about blast or post-blast investigation were given to the caller.

“It has come to the notice of the NSG that an unauthorised person, claiming to be Major Ajay Sharma from MI 3, tried to contact the NSG Palam Exchange on February 21, 2013. The calls were further redirected to Regional Hub of NSG at Hyderabad. During the course of conversation, the officer who was on duty, has given some details about the deployment of the NSG team from Regional Hub, Hyderabad at the blast site at Hyderabad on February 21, 2013,” read the statement.

“Preliminary probe has revealed that no details about the blast or post-blast investigation have been given to the caller,” it added.  The statement comes in the wake of a row over the ISI operative infiltrating the security establishment of the country.
