The notification for the second phase of polling in 67 Assembly segments of Uttar Pradesh would be issued on Friday where polling would be held on February 15.
Already the nomination process of the first phase of polling is underway in 73 Assembly segments in 15 districts of western UP and January 24 is the last date for the filing of the nominations.
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) T Venkatesh said here o Thursday that the notification for the start of the election process in 67 Assembly segments in 11 districts would commence at 1100 hours.
The nominations for the second phase of polling will continue till January 27 while scrutiny would take place on January 30. Candidates can withdraw their nominations till February 1.
Counting of votes of all the seven phases polling would be held together on March 11.
Venkatesh said in the second phase there are a total of 2,28,57,081 voters comprising 1.23-crore male, 1.04-crore female and 1,068 from the third gender. There are 23,693 polling booths for the second phase of polling.
The notification for the third phase polling in 69 constituencies would be issued on January 24, for fourth phase in 53 segments on January 30, fifth phase in 53 segments on February 2, sixth phase in 49 segments on February 8 and for seventh and last phase in 40 segments on February 11.
The second phase of polling would be held in the Assembly segments of Behat, Nakur, Saharnapur Nagar, Saharanpur, Deoband, Rampur Maniharan (SC), Gangoh, Najibabad, Nagina (SC), Barhapur, Dhampur, Nehtaur (SC), Bijnoir, Chandpur, Noorpur, Kanth, Thakurdwada, Moradabad Rural, Moradabad Nagar, Kundarki, Bilari, Chandausi (SC), Asmoli, Sambhal, Gunnaur, Suar, Chamraua, Bilaspur, Rampur, Milak (SC), Baheri, Meerganj, Bhojipura, Nawabganj, Faridpur (SC), Bithari Chainpur, Bareilly, Bareilly Cantt, Aonla, Dhanaura (SC), Naugawan Sadat, Amroha, Hasanpur, Pilibhit, Barkhera, Puranpur (SC), Bisalpur, Palia, Nighasan, Gola Gokarannath, Sri Naragar (SC), Dhaurahra (SC), lakhimpur, Kasta (SC), Mohammdi, Katra, Jalalabad, Tilhar, Powayan (SC), Shahjahanpur, Dadraul, Bisauli (SC), Shahaswan, Bilsi, Badaun, Shekhupur and Dataganj.
