No work is PM's biggest 'karnama': Akhilesh

Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said not doing any work is the Prime Minister’s biggest “karnama” (misdeed).

“Modiji spoke about our ‘karnama’ but did not give any account of his work. He is shying away from debate on development. Actually, doing nothing is his biggest karnama,” he said.

Yadav’s retort came against the backdrop of Modi’s comment that in Uttar Pradesh “karname boltey hain” (misdeeds speak out loud).

“He is busy in his ‘maan ki baat’. It would have been better though had he said something about the actual work his Government did at the ground level. How can the PM give details when his Government has not done anything concrete at the ground level,” Yadav said.

“In comparision, the Samajwadi Party Government has its report card ready. We have done so much of work that people have started talking about it. They are telling the media about how they have been getting power and how this government has connected their villages with district headquarters,” the Chief Minister said.

Yadav said that the surging crowds in rallies organised by the SP-Congress alliance has taken the sheen from the faces of BJP leaders. “In this sixth phase of election on March 4, the alliance will get major chunk of seats,” he hoped.

Yadav addressed a series of rallies in Ballia on Thursday. In Sikandarpur he addressed a rally in support of SP candidate Md Ziauddin Rizvi where he said that the BJP and BSP were heading towards a massive defeat.

“These parties know that defeat is staring at their faces and therefore both parties will join hands after election,” Yadav said appealing to the people to vote for the alliance.

The CM said ‘notebandi’ has severely affected the common man. “Traders, labourers and common man on the streets were the worst sufferers. The PM should tell the nation how much blck money was confiscated in the last three years. We have been asking this for many months now but the Central Government is yet to come up any answer,” he said.
