No one can mar Guv-CM chemistry: TMC

Amid an air of tension between Nabanna (State Secretariat) and Raj Bhavan over the alleged Trinamool Congress attack on Union Minister Nishit Pramanik’s convoy, Bengal’s ruling outfit on Tuesday made efforts to restore normalcy of relationship by saying "no amount of instigation by the Opposition BJP could damage the chemistry between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor CV Ananda Bose."

Addressing the media on the sidelines of a meeting with the State Vice-Chancellors at Raj Bhavan, Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu said the State Government was ready to function under the "visionary leadership of the Chief Minister and able guidance of the Governor.

"There have been instigations from various sides," the Minister said stopping short of naming the saffron party adding, "the honourable Governor is a highly experienced and learned person and no amount of instigation from any side can damage the chemistry," between the Government and the Raj Bhavan.

The initial cordiality between the two sides seemed to take a beating a couple of days ago after the Governor warned the Government against lapses in law and order situation saying he would take appropriate action in cases of violation of law and order.

His statement came in the wake of an attack — by alleged TMC goons — on Pramanik’s convoy at Ambari village in Coochbehar district where he had gone to see a party worker.

The attack had come a few days after his house was gheraoed by the TMC men allegedly at the behest of party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee — in condemnation of a BSF firing that killed a local Raj Bangshi youth.

Following the Governor’s warning, the TMC had attacked him saying he was proving himself to be a BJP man and was following in the footsteps of his predecessor Jagdeep Dhankhar the present Vice-President of India who had an acrimonious relationship with Mamata Banerjee.
