Senior BJP leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday dismissed the morcha organised by the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) as a “nano morcha” as there was not much of a crowd in the rally.
Talking to media persons after the MVA rally, Fadnavis said: “It was a nano morcha… We have not seen drone shots of the crowds present at the rally. There was no footage suggesting huge crowds. Wut we have seen are only close up shots”
“We had told the MVA leaders to hold their rally at the Azad Maidan. Instead, they decided to hold their post-morcha rally on a narrow road. Because, they would have been exposed if they were to hold the rally at the Azad Maidan,” he said.
Fadnavis said that the MVA leaders had no issues to talk about “It was just a political gathering of three parties. he three parties (NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena) put in all their strength but could not muster a big crowd,” he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP accused the Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders of making controversial remarks on the birthplace of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar held ‘maafi maango’ demonstrations in various parts of Mumbai, here on Saturday.
State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, BJP Mumbai President Ashish Shelar, senior leader Pravin Darekar – along with party workers – staged protests by waving black flags and placards, raising slogans and condemning the Sena (UBT) at different places in the metropolis.
