Faced with severe financial crunch, North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) has requisitioned South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to give a loan of Rs100 crore. SDMC has not paid rent to the NMC despite several reminders. As a mater of fact SDMC is housed in the Civic Centre owned by NMC. Now the NMC bosses have asked the SDMC to loan them them amount as the money was needed for several welfare projects. In its bid to come out of the financial mess, the NMC has also demanded Rs15 crore of the total Rs25 crore maintenance charges for five years from the SDMC. “We want Rs100 crore as a loan from SDMC which in turn can help NMC come out of debt,” said Mohan Bhardwaj, SDMC Standing Committee Chairman.
