Nine passengers, including a six- month-old boy, were killed and 10 others injured when their speeding bus rammed into a stationary truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district on Thursday morning, police said.
The accident took place near Gudh road, located 25 km from here, at around 6.30 am when the bus was on its way to Sidhi district, Rewa’s Superintendent of Police Abid Khan told PTI. The truck driver parked his vehicle on a roadside around 5 am and was freshening up nearby when the bus rammed into it, he said.
Poor visibility due to fog in the area apparently led to the accident, Inspector General of Police, Rewa Range, Chanchal Shekhar said
The bus driver fled the spot, the official said.
