The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday released the photographs of bodies of four terrorists killed in the Pathankot airbase attack in which apart from the other details the agency has also mentioned about their circumcision as an identification mark for seeking information from the public about their identities.
The agency has released two photographs each of the four liquidated terrorists. Apart from mentioning their sex, height and build, the agency has interestingly mentioned “circumcision present” in case of all the four killed terrorists.
“Mention of circumcision as an identification mark to identify the bodies of slain terrorists is unprecedented as the NIA had not released such details even in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case. In any case, how does circumcision of a person help anyone in identifying an unclaimed bodyIJ Normally, marks on the face or limbs or absence, if any, of limbs are mentioned besides the height and weight of the person whose details are sought through such notices,” a senior official of a security agency said.
While the photographs of the Body No 1 put up by the agency mention his sex as male, height as 5’ 6’’ and build as thin, the photographs of Body No 2 point out his sex as male, height as 5’7’’but build as medium.
likewise, the Body No 3 is also of a male with height being 5’8’’, healthy build and no toes in both feet. The Body No 4 is that of another male with 5’7’’ height having medium build.
“In case anybody can identify any of the above or has any information regarding any of the above, he/she may contact on the following address : Address : Superintendent of Police, National Investigation Agency, 6th & 7th Floor, NDCC-II Building, Jai Singh Marg, Palika Kendra, New Delhi 110001,” the agency said in the notice issued to seek information from the public.
The notice also mentions a landline number 011-23438236 and mobile number 9654447345 besides e-mail address assistance.nia@gov.in for contacting the agency to provide information of these terrorists.
These terrorists were killed inside Air Force Station Pathankot while they were carrying out terrorist attack on January 2 this year.
The picture has been circulated and public asked to share information about them. Anybody giving “relevant and correct” information would be rewarded up to Rs 1 lakh, NIA said.
The agency has already approached the Interpol for issuance of Black Notice for the four. The international notice is issued for identification of unidentified bodies found in a country.
The NIA move comes ahead of the visit by a Pakistani probe team in connection with the Pathankot terror attack on an IAF base.
