The newly appointed Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Rakesh Asthana on Friday took stock of the prevailing security situation along the International border across Jammu frontier.
DG BSF arrived here on a three day long visit and also visited several border outposts of Akhnoor sector where he boosted the morale of the BSF jawans and interacted with them.
DG BSF was accompanied by the senior officers S S Panwar, Addl DG (WC), N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu Frontier .
“During the high level meeting chaired by DG BSF, the overall deployment of BSF jawans and also the domination plan was reviewed”, stated a BSF spokesman in a written statement.
DG BSF also visited the critical areas of Chicken Neck stretch of Akhnoor Sector and held discussion with sector/unit commanders on the ground and reviewed the security situation.
