NDA will bring economy back on track: BJP

The BJP on Sunday blamed the lack of leadership in the UPA for policy paralysis and claimed the future NDA Government at the Centre would bring the economy back on tracks.

Former BJP chief M Venkaiah Naidu also said their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was ‘Decisive, Dynamic & Development oriented’ and he would repeat the success story of Gujarat at the national level.

“The present Government, instead of giving encouragement, is creating obstacles and putting shackles to the growth. There is all round disillusionment in India because of the present Government’s lackluster governance and mismanagement of the economy.  That will be changed once the BJP comes to the power,”

Naidu said at a meeting of the Overseas Friends of BJP in Sydney. Naidu described Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s era of NDA as the “golden period” of country’s economy wherein the growth rate was over eight per cent and the inflation rate was below 5 per cent.

“He brought connectivity revolution — Air connectivity, Rail connectivity, Highway connectivity, Rural Road connectivity, Telecom connectivity, Television connectivity, Port connectivity and Political connectivity; highest foreign exchange reserves and lowest inflation and also prices were under control. He had raised the respect of India in the international community,” Naidu said.
