After three days of hospitalisation, NCP chief Sharad Pawar was on Wednesday discharged from Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic, where he had undergone treatment for a “minor kidney problem” and “water retention”.
Seventy-five-year-old Pawar, who had been admitted to the Ruby Hall Clinic after he complained of exhaustion on Saturday evening, left for Mumbai immediately after his discharge from the hospital on Wednesday morning.
Talking to mediapersons after his discharge in Pune, Pawar said: “Doctors advised me to take rest for 8 to 10 days. I will try. But, I am not used to sitting at one place for that long. During the next two months, I will not be free for even one day. I am scheduled to go to many places during this period. I will see how I can manage to get some rest during the period”.
In his interaction with media after Pawar’s discharge from his hospital, Dr Sanjay Pathare, Assistant Director, Medical Services, Ruby Hall Clinic, said: “He (Pawar) is absolutely fine and after keeping him under observation for over two days, we have now given him discharge from the hospital this morning”.
Refuting baseless speculation in the social media about the deteriorating health of Pawar, Pathare had said on Tuesday: “Baseless rumours are being spread on social media and other places about health. I request the people not to lend credence to these rumours. let me assure that Mr Pawar is in a extremely good condition and he will be discharged tomorrow”.
Earlier, Dr Parvez Grant, Managing Trustee and Chief Cardiologist of Ruby Hall clinic, had said that Pawar had been admitted to his hospital for treatment of a ‘minor kidney problem’ and ‘water retention”’.
