The Communist Party of India (Maoist), Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee has owned responsibility for Saturday’s attack on the Congress party convoy at Darbha Ghati, 35 kms from Sukma in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
In an e-mailed statement to the media houses, spokesperson for Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, Gudsa Usendi said that the prime objective of the attack was to kill Mahendra Karma and other Congress leaders.
‘The encounter between the guerrillas and the armed police force led to loss of lives of innocent persons and lower-level Congress workers who were not our enemies. The CPI(Maoist) Danadakaranya Zonal Committee expresses regret over their death’,Usendi said.
He demanded stoppage of ‘Operation Green Hunt’ and withdrawal of para-military forces from Dandakaranya in Bastar region.
