Alert sounded in three Naxal-infested districts in UP after the Chhattisgarh Maoist ambush. The Uttar Pradesh Government has sounded a high alert in the Naxal-infested Sonebhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli districts in view of the attack on Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
Additional Director General of Police (law and Order) Arun Kumar, on Sunday, informed that an alert has been issued to Police chiefs, especially, of the three districts.
“Police pickets in bordering areas with Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand in these three districts of UP have been directed to monitor intruders and people crossing over to the State,” he said.
Kumar said that though there was no Naxal attack in the UP for the past several years but still all precautions were being taken in view of the Chhattisgarh incident.
Meanwhile Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Nirmal Khatri condemned the incident of Chhattisgarh and termed it as a ‘cowardly’ act by the anti-national activists.
