Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is unlikely to change his stand towards the BJP and the Congress. It also seems his BJD will maintain equidistance not only from both the BJP and Congress but also from the other non-BJP and non-Congress parties.
Patnaik is also not ready to go with the AIADMK and the Trinamool Congress, the two major regional parties which have won sizable numbers of seats in the lok Sabha, said sources.
"Naveen will like to go it alone in the national politics," said the sources, adding that the BJD would also not oppose NDA at the Centre. His support to NDA on the plea of Odisha's interests is viewed as his self-defence move in view of the Sword of Damocles hanging over many BJD leaders.
