Natural Gas Row: HC raps Centre for not meeting deadline

Published on:

In a major setback to Centre, the Gujarat High Court once again cracked on the Union Government for delay in giving cheaper Compressed Natural Gas to Gujarat despite the court had ordered to kick-start supply by November 30.

The court observed that the Centre is not being able to work out the issue and pulled up the Central Government for its failure to provide cheaper CNG for domestic and vehicular use in the State. The Centre, however, cited technical reasons for delay. The High Court has asked concerned authorities to start regular supply to the State by December 10.
