The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Friday inaugurated a National Art Exhibition at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. The council also released a digital catalogue of exhibits displayed in this exhibition. The exhibition has on display paintings, sculpture, photographs, drawings and graphics of various prominent artists of the country.
The artists participating in this exhibition are from the 26 States with their 52 artistic creations. These 52 art creations were selected from the 4,250 artworks received from the 2,200 artists across the country. “The council has decided to give 26 awards of Rs25,000 each out of which one would be Chairman Award for Rs25,000 would be given away to the selected artists. There are also 26 awards of Rs10,000 for young artists,” said an official. Greeting the artists of this exhibition NDMC chairperson Jalaj Shrivastava spelt out that the objective of NDMC in organising the Art Exhibition is to encourage young and upcoming artists around the country.
