Naqvi calls Cong a 'benami property'

Taking a swipe at the Congress, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said the party is still trying to figure out as who is the boss in it and in a way it has turned out to be “a benami property” whose owner was not known.

Naqvi made these remarks after launching the Facebook page of the  second “Hunar Haat” of Minority Affairs Ministry, being organised here. The Minister was reacting to senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s reported comment that Priyanka was looking after party’s Assembly poll management rather than campaigning as “Army chiefs need not go to the border to fight .”

“I am not aware of how many Army chiefs are there in the Congress. It is so confused ...Soniaji is their Army chief, Rahulji is, Priyankaji is, so is Robert Vadra,” Naqvi said .

The Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent charge) also alleged that the Congress has turned into a benami property whose owner is unknown.

“The Congress has raised ‘to-let board’...Anyone can gatecrash into it. It has become a benami property and the question is who is its owner,” he said.

Naqvi said that around 15 lakh people have visited the 130 stalls the Ministry has installed for artisans and craftsmen at the second edition of the Haat, being held in Connaught Place, after its launch on February 11.

The Haat is an initiative of the minister to promote talents  at different levels in the minority community.
