NaMo talk in Mumbai on June 27

BJP’s Campaign Committee chief Narendra Modi will deliver a speech on ‘good governance through democracy’ in Mumbai at a book release function on June 27.

The Gujarat Chief Minister will launch a book Beyond Billion Ballots, written by RSS ideologue Vinay Sahasrabuddhe. BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari and Gopinath Munde will also remain present in the function to be held at BSE International Convention Centre. Sahasrabuddhe, a social activist since 1988, is also a member of BJP’s national working committee and director general of Mumbai-based Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, an academy for grooming socio-political activists.

Prior to the function at Mumbai, Modi is also visiting Madhopur on the Punjab-Jammu & Kashmir border to pay tribute at Jansangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s memorial on his death anniversary on June 23.

Mookerjee was arrested on entering Kashmir on May 11, 1953 and jailed in a dilapidated house by the then J&K Government. Despite his allergy to penicillin, he was allegedly administered penicillin as he suffered from dry pleurisy by the doctor-in-charge. Due to this he died.

However, the permit system introduced for the Indian citizens to travel in J&K was later abolished.

Sources said that on the sidelines of his visit to Mumbai and Punjab, the saffron party’s campaign chief is expected to have a series of important meetings with leaders of NDA parties.
