Former BJP chief M Venkaiah Naidu has been assigned the responsibility of "planning, monitoring and coordination" for the nationwide mass campaign that the party plans to launch from this month.
The party plans to hold nearly 100 rallies, with a gathering of about one lakh people, in different parts of the country. Naidu will spearhead preparations for this and other mass campaign programmes. Party president Rajnath Singh and head of national campaign committee, Narendra Modi, have asked chairman of six different related sub-committees to report to Naidu to ensure "effective" planning and implementation of the mass campaign programmes.
The sub-committees on Rallies, lok Sabha Sammelan, Elite (intellectual) Gatherings, Friends of BJP in India, Overseas Friends of BJP and IT Communication Campaign will work under Naidu's guidance. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the BJP campaign committee on Thursday. Members of sub-committee on preparing a charge
sheet against UPA also met on Friday and chalked out the strategy for the "effective use" of social media to "expose" the Congress-led coalition.
