Union Minister of Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate a three days conference on 'Urban Transition in BRICS’ beginning Wednesday in Visakhapatnam to discuss challenges and way forward in urban sector in the member countries.
Ministers and experts from the BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, South Africa, China and India — will deliberate range of issues such as urban transition, development of smart cities, financing urban infrastructure, inclusive housing, Climate change, regional planning, water and sanitation management and new reforms for urban renaissance.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers from other BRICS nations besides a large number of urban planners, experts, members of academia, etc., will participate in the conference which will discuss and evolve a common agenda for the BRICS to be presented at the HABITAT-III Conference to be held in Quito, Eucador.
