Even as the two major contending parties — Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress Party — were busy analysing the massive turnout of 80 per cent voters and what it meant for them, another party lok Satta alleged that political parties indulged indiscriminate use of money power in the elections.

A day after the polling, both the YSRCP and the TDP claimed their victories and said that the higher turnout was in their favour. While, the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the first time voters, women and the farmers had supported the TDP-BJP alliance.Naidu, who had a meeting with film star Pawan Kalyan at his residence, claimed that the TDP was going to form the Government in Seemandhra by winning 120 to 130 Assembly seats. The party will also win 20 to 22 lok Sabha seats, he said.

Pawan Kalyan, who paid Naidu a courtesy call, spent half an hour at his residence reviewing the polling trends, prospect in different constituencies and the formation of the next Government.Addressing a Press conference Naidu said that the YSRCP fearing defeat tried to create an atmosphere of fear by indulging in violence to keep the voting percentage low. “But the people faced these acts bravely. I congratulate them.”

Naidu alleged that the YSRCP had distributed illicit liquor among the people in villages causing five deaths. The people also rejected the fake currency notes offered by the party, Naidu said.Alleging that the Jaganmohan Reddy’ s supporters had attacked the TDP leaders, police and media representatives, Naidu said, “the rowdyism which was confined to Pulivendula has now been spread to all parts of Seemandhra.”

The TDP has demanded repolling in nine villages of Jammalamadugu constituency.Meanwhile, the YSRCP has also claimed victory. Party’s senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy told a Press conference that his party was going to win at least 146 Assembly seats and 23 lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra.“There was a strong wave in favour of Jagan,” he said. Mysoora Reddy said that the YSRCP was going to secure 51 per cent votes in the Assembly and 53 per cent votes in the lok Sabha elections against 39 and 40 per cent for the TDP.

Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has declared that he was keeping all the options open on the question of supporting the new Government at the Centre.“We will support a Government which takes decisions in the interest of our State,” he said.Meanwhile, lagdapati Rajagopal, former Congress MP from Vijayawada known for conducting his own opinion polls, predicted that the TDP would form the next Government in Seemandhra. Rajagopal, who retired from active politics as a protest over the bifurcation of the State, said the prospects of the TDP were bright. He suggested that the name of the new Seemandhra State should be ‘Telugunadu’ to create a strong feeling of unity among the people on the basis of language.

Addressing a Press conference, lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan said that political parties spent `8,000 crore in the State elections. “If the parties spent `7crore for the election of one zilla parishad member, you can understand how grim the situation was.”“Politicians have made posts a question of life and death,” he said. Talking of the future of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh, JP said that the State will make a beginning with a revenue deficit of `12,000 crore.
