A BJP delegation led by the senior BJP leader JP Nadda on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner drawing attention to “the unabated and vicious attacks” by CPM activists on BJP workers in the poll-bound kerala.

“On 15th February, 2015, in Kannur’s Pappinassery Panchayat, Sujith, one of the handful workers of BJP in the CPI(M) bastion, was hacked to death by more than 15 CPI(M) activists. Even his brother and old mother were not spared. As they tried to stop the criminals, they were beaten so brutally that they suffered multiple fractures”, the memorandum said referred to other violent acts against the BJP workers including the one  in Kannur district against EK Biju, an autorickshaw driver .

Biju was ferrying some kids to their school and he was waylaid and attacked by CPI(M) activists and hacked multiple times with sharp-edged weapons in front of small kids, the BJP memorandum said.

“The series of targeted attacks on the BJP workers by the CPI(M) activists is a very serious matter which puts a big question mark whether the elections to the State Assembly would be peaceful, free and fair”, the BJP said and sought the Commission to seek a detailed report from the state authorities. It also asked for the deployment of adequate para-military forces and provide security to BJP workers.
