In an effort to work out a new campaign strategy of the party for the coming Assembly elections, BJP’s national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman has been given the charge of Rajasthan.
According to party sources, she would be coming to Jaipur to meet State BJP president Vasundhara Raje by the weekend, before formally taking over the charge.
She would held meeting with State party spokespersons and others who are handling the media. In the second round, she would go to the districts to give tips to the local spokespersons about dealing with the media. Sources said that the team which had handled the campaign in Gujarat Assembly elections has been roped in to manage the election campaign in Rajasthan.
The team has already set up its office and presently busy in looking after the Suraj Sankalp Yatra of Vasundhara Raje. It has prepared a blueprint for using social media to reach out to the voters. Since Rajasthan is a Hindi speaking State, it is focusing on it other than English.
At least half a dozen websites have been created and are being updated round the clock to give latest about the yatra and other activities of the party.
