Mystery shrouds call centre's staffer death in office

Published on:

A 25-year-old call centre employee died under mysterious circumstances at his office on Wednesday afternoon. Deceased Arjit Chakraborty was working at a call centre in Phase II in Naraina Industrial area. The deceased had lunch around 2 pm in the office. After that he fell on the floor.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The family members of the deceased, however, claimed that they received a call from his office stating that he had fainted and was being taken to the hospital. However, employees at the office told his family that he sat on his chair and screamed out of pain and that saliva was dripping out of his mouth.

“We had believed that he died a natural death until we called the company owner Vinay Bali to meet him to know the exact details. While we were talking the phone did not get disconnected and we heard the owner abusing us and telling his staff to remove his car from the parking and to not allow us to enter. This gained a certain sort of suspicion among us. The police also accompanied us to his office but he was not available to meet and his phone was off. If the company is not involved in the incident then why is the owner hiding,” said a close family relative. Neelam, close family friend said the police have not registered FIR and neither the post-mortem report was shown to us.

“Now the police have said that on Friday afternoon the owner should turn up talk about the issue. And if the owner won’t be present his legal advisor Subhash Bakshi who is a Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police will be present on his behalf,” she said.
