Coming in the support of his sons, Aarif Ramodia, father of the two ISIS suspects claimed that both the brothers Naeem and Wasim were innocent and they would come out clean after the legal battle.
The Ramodia brothers are hailing from Rajkot. They were nabbed by Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Sunday and a case has been registered against them under unlawful activity and prevention act as well as explosive substance act. Currently they are in police custody as per a local court order till March 10.
“I know my sons are innocent and police would fail to prove their hands in any sort of anti-national activity. Our family has complete faith in Indian judiciary system,” said Aarif denying involvement of any of his family members in the case.
The ATS had recovered 58 grams of gun powder, two face masks, a battery used for making bombs and about a dozen of crude bombs from the two arrested. The police also found eight editions of an ISIS magazine ‘Dabik’ and videos of techniques for making bombs and guerrilla warfare stored in their two lap tops. The police even recovered about 173 speeches of Mufti Kasim from mobile phones recovered from their possessions. Mufti Kasim was arrested from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh by National Investigation Agency for links with ISIS.
Disagreeing on these recoveries from his sons, Aarif alleged that nothing was shown to him or other family members and that both his sons were being trapped in the case.
