Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that he failed to understand as to why some people in India are having “stomach ache” over his recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

“I can understand that some countries are not happy over my recent visit to Saudi Arabia. They cannot see India's improving relationship with other countries. However, I do not understand whay some people in India are having stomach ache, or headache or fever over thisIJ What kind of patriotism is thisIJ” the Prime Minister asked while addressing a rally at Rangia in Assam's Kamrup district on Friday.

“I have visited Mecca recently, which is in Saudi Arabia recently. The bilateral ties between the Saudi Arabia and India have improved during the visit. They have honoured me with the highest civilian award," he said adding that the developments are significant as India is making new friends and becoming stronger.

The Prime Minister who arrived here on Friday to kick start the party's campaign for the second phase of polls for 61 constituencies on Monday, also visited the Kamakhya temple and addressed four rallies.

Modi also took a dig at Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and said that the Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has stopped smiling after there was heavy turnout of voters in Assam during the first phase of polling. "Whenever people of Assam support someone, they support wholeheartedly. They have supported the Congress for 15 years. But the Congress failed to overcome its Bangladeshi vote bank politics and dynastic politics, which has ruined Assam," he said.

"I thank the people of Assam for unprecedented high percentage of voting in the first phase. You must have noticed that the Assam Chief Minister has stopped smiling after the first phase of polls. He is now inviting the Congress leaders from Delhi to save him. But those who cannot save Delhi, how can they save GogoijiIJ" he said while attacking the Congress.

Accusing the Congress over the dynastic politics, Modi said that the Congress is not bothered about the future of anyone but rather concerned about settling their own sons and daughters. "For them son or daughter, or son-in-law are of more importance than the country," he said while adding that the Congress had turned the whole people in Assam as below poverty line (BPl) in their rule.

"I have seen States with 20 per cent to 30 per cent BPl population. However, the Congress Government in Assam has turned the entire population of the State poor as BPl," he said.

later addressing another rally at Barpeta Road, The Prime Minister assured that the fencing of Indo-Bangladesh border is his priority and that the Government would take such step that will not only stop infiltration but also ensure that all the illegal infiltrators living in Assam has to go back.
