Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief spokesperson and MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Monday said the female friend of deceased Rahul Rajput, a Delhi University (DU) student who was allegedly beaten to death allegedly by her brothers in Delhi, has claimed that she reached out the nearby police station for help but the police denied any help.

Bhardwaj said the AAP demands that stringent action must be taken against the Delhi Police officials who were present in the police station when the girl complained but did not take any action.

"The AAP will take to the streets and hold a massive protest if the BJP does not take action against these officers," he said.

Bhardwaj further said, “Rahul Rajput was beaten to death in northwest Delhi some days back. Some people who were brothers and friends of a girl who was Rahul's friend, allegedly thrashed him"

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met the family of 18-year-old Rahul Rajput. "Delhi BJP chief  Adesh Gupta also met the family members and tried to mislead the family but at the end of the day, we expected that the BJP would provide justice to the family because Delhi Police came under the BJP ruled Central government," he said.

The AAP leader said, "The police station is just adjacent to the Metro Station of Adarsh Nagar. I want to know from the BJP why the police were silent when the girl reached out to them. Today if the police had intervened then Rahul would have been alive. He was the only child of his parents," he said.
