Mumbai’s former Mayor Shubha Raul returned to the Shiv Sena on Wednesday, three months after she quit the Sena and joined the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Shubha, who had quit the Shiv Sena and joined the MNS on September 27, 2014 after she was denied the party ticket to contest the State Assembly polls from Dahisar constituency in north Mumbai, described her return to the  Sena as “home coming”. Talking to media persons after her meeting with Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray who re-inducted her into the party,  Shubha said: “My return to the Shiv Sena is home coming for me. I have absolutely no differences with the Sena leadership. I had left the Sena for other reasons. I have met Uddhavji and explained the circumstances leading to my quitting the Sena and joining the Sena. He is more than satisfied with my explanation. That’s why I am back in the Sena”.

Shubha, whose decision to switch over to the MNS was borne out that the fact the Sena chose re-nominate its sitting Vinod Ghosalkar for the second time in a row despite her claims for the party nomination, said: “I had quit the party had given the ticket to Ghosalkar despite many complaints against him and my claim for party nomination to contest the polls”.
