Mulayam's attack on Govt political drama: UP BJP

Questioning SP national president Mulayam Singh Yadav’s attack on Akhilesh Yadav’s Government for inefficiency, the BJP asked as why the Government has not taken any action despite SP leadership knowing about corruption in tehsils and Ministers not working as per desire of people.

“The statement of SP national president was nothing but a political drama. If he knew about corruption in tehsils and thanas then why he has not asked the Chief Minister to take action against the corrupt officials,” Vijay Bhadur Pathak said in his daily Press briefing here on Sunday. He said BJP has been raising questions about law and order situation as well as prevailing corruption in the Government from time-to-time.

“What Mulayam Singh said was vindication of BJP stand. The time has come for the SP national president to wipe out corruption from the Government sector and therefore he should take strict action against the Ministers indulged in corruption,” he added.

There is a bigger question, he said. Mulayam Singh acted like an Opposition party leader that day and exposed the Government working. What was his motive in doing soIJ If he really wanted to shake up administration, he should have done it with actions not words, he said.

It is for sure now that the Samajwadi Party leadership has started accepting the failures of the Akhilesh Yadav Government. “The Akhilesh Government should now step down for its failure,” Pathak said.

During a public function, Yadav had criticised the Akhilesh Government over corruption and law and order. He even said that BJP leader lal Krishna Advani had informed him about the rampant corruption in the State.

Pathak said SP, BSP and Congress are trying to mislead the people through their statements.
