Raising a big question mark over Mulayam Singh Yadav’s secular credentials, Rashtriya Ulema Council president Maulana Amir Rashadi said that SP chief was worse than BJP leader Narendra Modi.
“Mulayam ne toh Modi ko peeche chodd diya hai. Although Modi has damaged Muslim community in Gujarat but the major damage was caused by Mulayam Singh in the State as he was responsible for some 143 riots and arrest of innocent Muslim youths implicated on false terror charges,” said Rashadi while talking to The Pioneer.
In year 2007 and 2012 with support of Muslim community, the Samajwadi Party came into power in the State and he always claimed to be a messiah of Muslims. He said in comparison to other political parties, community had love and affection towards the SP chief and even kept faith in him like a family member but in return Muslims got betrayal only.
Continuing his attacks on SP chief, Rashadi said former Muslim MP from Samajwadi party was sent to jail during the SP regime in year 2007-08 in a murder cases but in police officer Zia-ul-Haq murder case the SP remained silent on accused MlA.
Speaking on the communal riots taken place in the State since SP regime came into power, he claimed that first riot took place in Kosi Kalan where houses of Muslims were burnt and many lost their lives. Genocide of 7 Muslims took place near Mathura two weeks later and recent was Muzaffarnagar. “Recently SP workers tried to incite same pattern of violence in Azamgarh but we took control over the situation,” he alleged.
