After the Yatras taken out by the Congress and the Bhartiya Janta Party, now the ruling Samajwadi Party would launch its door-to-door campaign in a big way coiningit as ‘Mulayam Singh Yadav Yatra. The programme will be organised by the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha from coming Saturday and intends to make people aware about the achievements of Akhilesh Yadav Government and its pro-people schemes.

“The Yatra will be flagged off by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav from the State party office,” announced SP’s national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member Kironmay Nanda in lucknow on Thursday.

“The Yatra would be in two phases. The first phase will start from September 10 and will culminate after covering lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Allahabad divisions in the next 10 days.

The second phase would start from September 25 from the official bungalow of Mulayam Singh in New Delhi and will come to an end after covering 20 districts at Sitapur in the next 10 days,” Nanda informed.

He said that the activists and leaders of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha would inform the masses about the 29 schemes of the SP Government which were launched for their welfare.

The SP leader, a close confidant of the party president, also denied that there was any possibility of a pre- poll alliance with the Congress.

“ There is no such move and the SP will contest the polls alone and would return to power twice in a row,” Nanda, a former West Bengal minister, said.

He also said that the Yatra and Khaat Sabhas of Rahul Gandhi were non-starters and the Congress would meet the same fate as they did in 2012.
